Main difference is that these accommodations are situated outside your university campus and managed and maintained by independent service providers. They may or may not be affiliated to the concerned university.

Yes it is possible. in-fact this is best practice that do a property viewing before booking to clear all doubts. Please check with your booking manager and place a request to arrange the property viewing.
To book the viewing, all you need is to share the details of the person who want to do the visit and time to arrange the viewing. Skype viewing can also be arranged but it need to confirmed with the property manager.
A guarantor is somebody who acts as surety by legally agreeing to fulfill the financial obligations of the tenancy agreement in the event that the tenant defaults. The guarantor is liable for any rent or property damage that the tenant has failed to cover. The guarantor can be your parent, a guardian or a family friend. The guarantor needs to be financially responsible and should be willing to co-sign the tenancy agreement with you and take up this guarantee.
Please refer to the property page for more information or speak to your booking expert. Many properties require a guarantor but at the same time there are many other properties which do not ask for any guarantor to accept a booking request.
Student Room Booking does not charge a booking fee or deposit. But in most cases you need to pay a certain amount which is normally 2 week rent in advance to confirm the booking. This deposit is completely safe, and is either adjusted against your first rent payment or returned to you at the end of your lease term.
Deposit varies from property to property. In some cases it is 2 week of advance rent and in some cases it can be upto 4 week advance rent. Please check with your booking expert to confirm the details for any specific property.
Properties support online payment options like credit cards or bank transfer.
The deposit is refundable and is either adjusted against your rent or is returned to you after your tenancy agreement has ended. The amount returned to you will depend on any outstanding charges and any damage found in your room or the shared areas in your flat. Details of this will be provided in your tenancy agreement.
